Conference Description
The Gordon Research Seminar on Photochemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. The seminar provides a welcoming environment that encourages collaboration, thoughtful discussion, and allows participants to build their professional network.
This meeting will encompass a broad range of disciplines within the photochemical umbrella, from novel molecules and materials to applications and recent developments in devices for solar energy conversion and storage, imaging, and biological processes. Topics will include, but not be limited to, photophysics, biological and medicinal photochemistry, organic and inorganic mechanistic photochemistry, green chemistry, spectroscopy, materials, applications, and solar energy.
The 2019 Photochemistry GRS will also feature a mentorship panel discussion on effective strategies in preparing for careers in science. This panel will be composed of a diverse group of Ph.D. scientists who have successful careers in varied areas of science (including both industry and academia) with the intention of demonstrating the large scope of opportunities available and providing insights into different career paths.
