Conference Description
The Macromolecular Materials GRC (formerly "Polymers West") is a long-standing meeting that covers forefront advances in all areas of polymer science. Unlike other polymer-related GRCs which have a more narrow focus, Macromolecular Materials covers synthesis, polymer physics, processing, and applications. While the majority of the presentations are devoted to experimental studies, historically theory, modeling, and simulation have also been well represented. Recently, as the polymer science moves closer to biology, there has been an increasing number of biopolymer/biomaterials related talks. At the Macromolecular Materials GRC, the focus in assembling the program is always on the "hottest and freshest" work emerging in the fields of polymer synthesis, polymer physics, polymer engineering and processing, as well as in biomaterials and nanotechnology. *Note: Between the years of 1963 and 2007, the "Polymers" GRC split into a West Coast series and an East Coast/European series, meeting twice yearly. In 2009, the name of the West conference changed to "Macromolecular Materials" and the East conference changed to "Polymers". Conference Description
