Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority Fellowship
The Carl Storm Underrepresented Minority (URM) Fellowship program was established by the GRC Board of Trustees to honor Director Emeritus Carl Storm's many years of service to GRC and to support his commitment to increasing diversity at the Conferences. This Fellowship Program provides an opportunity for URM graduate students, post docs, faculty and scientists to receive funding assistance to attend their first GRC.
Fellowship awards of $600 will be made available to support eligible participants. Fellowship applicants must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- graduate student, post doc, faculty or research scientist
- African American, Hispanic American or Native American
- U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident with a "green card"
- working at a U.S. institution
- attending a GRC for the first time
Applicants who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply for funding early. Support is limited and available on a first come-first served basis.
Final eligibility for funding is contingent upon acceptance to participate in the Gordon Conference of interest by the Conference Chair. Applications for funding through this program may be submitted prior to acceptance to the Conference.
All applications to participate in a particular GRC are reviewed and admittances are made by the individual Conference Chairs independent of this funding application. The information provided in this funding application will not be shared with the Conference Chair and will not affect your application to participate in the Conference.
