The objective of this meeting is to identify the research needed in the theoretical foundations that support the design and manufacture of the engineering systems of tomorrow. Our mission is to foster in-depth discussions among people from industry, universities, and government agencies in pursuit of the objective of the conference. In keeping with the guidelines of the Gordon Conference, a discussion-oriented format to foster dialog between participants is used. To encourage a free and uninhibited flow of ideas, there will be no proceedings and no record of what transpired at the conference will be published. Nothing said by any of the participants can be cited in publication. We expect participants to respect the confidentiality of information if it is provided in confidence.
