Biological Molecules in the Gas Phase
Mass Spectrometry, High-Resolution Spectroscopy and Theory
(This meeting is currently known as "Biological Molecules in the Gas Phase & in Solution")
July 22-27, 2007
Bates College
Lewiston, ME
Chair:
Albert J. Heck

Vice Chairs:
David Pratt & Joan-Emma Shea

The 4th Gordon Research Conference on "Biological Molecules in the Gas-Phase; Mass Spectrometry, High-resolution Spectroscopy and Theory" will take place at Bates College, Lewiston, Maine, July 22-27 2007. This symposium brings together experimentalists (from spectroscopy and mass spectrometry) and theoreticians (from ab initio to computational modeling) interested in the structures, dynamics and conformations of biological systems, including peptides, proteins and their assemblies. The 2007 conference includes sessions on folding and conformations, non-covalent complexes, high-resolution spectroscopy, solvation, top down approaches to protein structure, ECD and ETD mechanisms, structural modeling, and theory. The meeting also provides an excellent platform for young researchers (Ph.D, post-doc, junior faculty) to present their results and to participate in the extensive discussions that are at the heart of the GRC meeting. The evaluation and ratings by attendants in previous years have been outstanding, as this meeting really brings together expert scientists from complementary fields.
