Conference Program

Reproductive Tract Biology
August 3-8, 2008
Proctor Academy
Andover, NH

This Gordon Research Conference focuses on physiological, hormonal and cellular aspects of Reproductive Tract Biology. The focus of this conference will be on both male and female reproductive tract development, function and disease and will encompass biology of the testis, epididymis, ovary, uterus, cervix, and placenta. This Gordon Conference will bring together cutting-edge experts and young investigators in these areas to discuss mechanistic concepts and their translation to basic problems in development, function and disease across a broad spectrum of mammalian animal models. The highly multidisciplinary and integrative environment that will be created during this meeting in formal and informal settings is intentionally designed to encourage and facilitate cross-fertilization and development of significant new ideas. The program will include state-of-the-art discussions of important areas such as new paradigms in reproductive tract developmental biology, stem cells, reproductive immunobiology, male reproductive tract biology with an emphasis on the epididymis, ovarian biology with emphasis on follicle development and ovarian cancer, implantation biology, uterine regulation of placental development, uterine dysfunction and disease with emphasis on endometriosis and fibroids, placentation and fetal growth, and parturition.

A new aspect of this Conference is the inclusion of at least eight open slots for platform presentations of late breaking data (10 min plus 5 min discussion) to be selected from abstracts. If competing abstracts are considered equally novel, preference for oral presentation will be given to trainees and early stage investigators, but investigators at all stages of their career are encouraged to submit abstracts. Due to GRCs policy of open sharing of unpublished data, there will be no publication or citation of abstracts or presentations.

We encourage basic, clinical, and industry scientists at all career stages interested in the subject matter in above program to attend the Reproductive Tract Biology GRC.
