Meeting Description

The 2011 Gordon Research Conference on “Nanoporous Materials and Their Applications to Green Chemistry” will include cutting edge developments in nanoporous materials as well as their applications in current technological problems in alternative fuels, environmental cleanup and green chemistry. Experts in the varying communities of zeolites, mesoporous materials (MCM-like), Metal-organic-frameworks (MOFs), clathrates, porous carbon and inorganic-organic hybrid materials will have the opportunity to meet in this forum.

Structure-property relationships of materials to their applications will be a strong focus. Therefore, structural information will be of great interest and will comprise high resolution X-ray and electron microscopies. The cross fertilization of fields including nanoscale analytical, supercomputing modeling and simulations (including transport of gas and/or ions through porous media), synthesis and industrial applications heralds an exciting period in the quest to implement green chemistry in the ever-expanding global network of green chemistry.

The poster session will provide opportunities for presentation and discussion of important contributions in additional areas of nanoporous materials and technology.
