About the Site
The Four Points Sheraton/Holiday Inn Express is located in Ventura, California just 70 miles north of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. The Four Points by Sheraton/Holiday Inn Express is nestled on 17 acres of prime coastal land along California's Gold Coast and is the only hotel on the Ventura Harbor. The nearby Ventura Harbor Village provides an authentic California atmosphere complete with casual dining, shopping and a beautiful view of the ocean. The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel was sold in 2006 and the new owners have decided to operate the hotel under two separate names. The hotel now operates under the Holiday Inn Express name as well as the Four Points by Sheraton. GRC has utilized rooms in both hotels since 1996.
Arrival and Check-In
It is anticipated that attendees will arrive/check-in for the Gordon Research Conferences on Sunday between 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm and for the Gordon Research Seminars on Saturday between 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm. The first science session for the Gordon Research Seminars begins on Saturday at 3:30 pm so please give yourself enough time to check in and get to the session on time.
The Meeting Room and Poster Area
Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned San Buenaventura Ballroom.
Poster Sessions and Socials are held in the Clipper Rooms.
On-Site Housing / Facilities
Four Points Sheraton and Holiday Inn Express are located adjacent to each other, and connected by a catwalk. The accommodations offered in the sleeping rooms at the two facilities are equal. The Four Points Sheraton and the Holiday Inn Express have double rooms equipped with a phone, TV and air conditioning. Some of the rooms have outdoor patios or balconies.
There are 120 single rooms available for GRC attendees at the Four Points Sheraton / Holiday Inn Express. Accepted applicants have an opportunity to register for a single room on a first come, first served basis. Once all available single rooms have been reserved, you will be required to register for a double (shared) room.
Dining Area / Meals
All Meals are served in the air-conditioned Alexander’s Restaurant. Vegetarian selections are provided at all meals. Kosher meals (with two week advance notice) are available at the site.
Internet, Phone and Computer Access
Complimentary wireless Internet access is located throughout the hotel and there are Ethernet Jacks in all the sleeping rooms. Wireless cards are available for use (a $150 deposit is required). There is also one computer located near the Four Points Sheraton lobby which is available for the guests to use.
Handicapped Accessibility
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
On-Site Recreation
Attendees have access to the on site outdoor heated pool, outdoor whirlpool and fitness center, as well as the newly renovated (2011) tennis and basketball courts.
Other Information
Animals are permitted on-site with a $75 non-refundable fee. Contact your Conference Operations Associate to inquire about bringing a pet.
All GRC facilities are smoke free.
