About the Site

Bates College, located in central Maine 35 miles north of Portland and 140 miles from Boston, is one of the leading liberal arts institutions in the United States. The campus offers a serene setting to facilitate informal discussions and foster collaborative networks.

Lewiston is situated less than an hour from either sea coast or mountains and is within striking distance of Portland, one of the best "food cities" in the country. Additionally, Maine’s coast is among the most scenic in the world and is why many embrace the states slogan "Maine: the Way Life Should Be".
