The Hotel Galvez is located in Galveston, Texas just 40 miles south of Houston. At 32 miles long and two and a half miles wide the Island has seen its share of calamities, yet the worst natural disaster in U.S. history could not erase the tranquility of a Galveston sunset. From soft sandy beaches to famous 19th century architecture, the island is surrounded with incredible history and unique beauty.

Located on the Gulf of Mexico and a stretch from all of Galveston's year-round attractions, Hotel Galvez has hosted generations of families from around the world. Just across the street, Galveston's beaches have been widened, making them bigger and better than ever.

It is expected that attendees will arrive/check-in for the Gordon Research Conferences on Sunday between 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm and for the Gordon Research Seminars on Saturday between 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm. The first science session for the Gordon Research Seminars begins on Saturday at 3:30 pm so please give yourself enough time to check in and get to the session on time.

The science sessions will be held in the air-conditioned Music Hall.

The poster sessions will be set up in the Terrace Ballroom. The socials will also take place in the Terrace Ballroom along with the poster sessions.

The guest rooms at the Hotel Galvez are equipped with a phone, TV and air conditioning. Valet parking is available (surcharge) and self-parking is complimentary. Attendees have access to the on site outdoor tropical pool, hot tub and fitness center. Just across the boulevard begins a 30-mile ribbon of sun-drenched beaches, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and sunset strolls. Guests can rent bicycles or take a horseback ride. Nearby are golf, tennis, boating, fishing charters, water skiing, and personal-watercraft rentals. Guests enjoy membership privileges at the private Galveston Country Club’s 18-hole championship golf course, 12 miles away. Hotel Galvez is just a short ride away from downtown Galveston, galleries, museums, shops, Moody Gardens and the Strand Historic District.

There are 120 single rooms available for GRC attendees at the Hotel Galvez. Accepted applicants have an opportunity to register for a single room on a first come, first served basis. Once all available single rooms have been reserved, you will be required to register for a double (shared) room.

All Meals will be served in the air-conditioned Veranda Room. Vegetarian selections are provided at all meals. Kosher meals (with two week advance notice) are available at the site.

Complimentary Wireless Internet access is available in all common areas and guest rooms.

The site is fully handicapped accessible.

All GRC facilities are smoke free.
