Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Apoptotic Cell Recognition & Clearance is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

In the context of apoptotic cell recognition and clearance, the focus of this meeting is the understanding of the unique symbiosis between apoptotic cell death and pathogenesis. We will discuss mechanisms involved in the recognition and removal of dead apoptotic bodies, and the physiological consequences of this process with regard to tissue repair and the resolution of inflammation. In this context, we will explore mechanisms by which pathogens exploit the unique non-inflammatory responses elicited by apoptotic cells and further their pathogenesis.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Apoptotic Cell Recognition and Clearance" Gordon Research Conference (GRC).
