Carbohydrate are ubiquitous in nature. They play roles in many important physiological and pathological events ranging from inflammation to microbial infections and tumor development. With the increasing appreciation of their important functions, carbohydrate chemistry and glycobiology are exciting areas of active research and the frontiers of modern research. The 2021 Carbohydrates GRC will bring together both established and emerging scientists, and cover the major recent developments in all areas of glycosciences, ranging from synthetic carbohydrate chemistry to the development and implementation of next generation technological and therapeutic platforms for disease detection, treatment and prevention.
This GRC will be held in conjunction with the "Carbohydrates (GRS)" Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRS in addition to an application for the GRC. Refer to the associated GRS program page for more information.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. Please check back regularly for updates to this information.
