This conference has been withdrawn from the 2020 conference schedule
As you are aware, coronavirus is having a global impact and the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control have instituted recommendations that include social distancing and cancelling conferences and large gatherings. Since safety of our attendees is always GRC's highest priority, the GRC Board of Trustees has decided to withdraw this conference and it will be rescheduled for 2022. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and to alleviate the concerns of our conference communities that are scheduled to meet in this timeframe.
The comprehensive study of natural products and bioactive compounds has inspired significant and powerful innovations with respect to drug discovery and human health initiatives. Natural products have been utilized in both traditional and modern medicine for the treatment of various diseases for centuries. Unsurprisingly, a significant number of prescribed drugs are derived from or inspired by natural products. In addition, natural product research has advanced multiple scientific disciplines including new synthetic methodologies, new technologies enabling their isolation and preparation, and the understanding of biosynthetic pathways and biological targets.
The 69th Gordon Conference on Natural Products and Bioactive Compounds seeks to advance the broad and constantly evolving field of natural product research through outstanding presentations at the forefront of science and collaborative and cross-disciplinary interactions. Scientists of various backgrounds will discuss and exchange ideas for the progression of basic, applied, and clinical research of natural products and its continued positive impact on human health. A unique and diverse group of scientists will be assembled that span scientific disciplines, and stem from various experience levels, backgrounds, and demographics. The conference will provide a unique and exciting venue that will foster in-depth discussions in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, with numerous opportunities for social interactions and professional development.
This highly interactive and exciting meeting will be held at the Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire. The site's quiet and relaxed setting offers outstanding staff and modern facilities that are ideally suited for the scientific, social, and recreational aspects of the Gordon Conferences.
