Conference Description
The Natural Products and Bioactive Compounds GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Whether it be the intricate molecular architecture, the exquisite activity leading to medicinal therapies or the biological pathways involved in creating the beautiful scaffolds, natural products have attracted the interest of chemists, biologists, physicians, and patients for centuries. Taking queues from nature, scientists have been inspired to conceive creative synthetic chemistry strategies to assemble architecturally complex scaffolds, invent new chemistry methodologies, and understand key structure-activity relationships that define the biological activity. They have also been challenged to understand biosynthetic pathways and manipulate cell biology to create natural products and their analogs through targeted processes in the laboratory.
The 70th Gordon Conference on Natural products and Bioactive Compounds will bring together academic and industrial leaders in the fields of natural product chemical and biological synthesis, pathway biology, isolation, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and chemical methods. Leaders from these disciplines will gather to discuss new breakthroughs in science and be given significant opportunities to interact with each other in both scientific and social settings. Poster presentations will also facilitate in-depth scientific exchange among attendees in a more relaxed, social atmosphere. This premier scientific conference will attract a diverse array of participants and create opportunities for emerging young investigators to interact with experts in the field.
As in previous years, the meeting will be held at the Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire. This comfortable setting offers outstanding staff and modern facilities that are ideally suited for the scientific, social, and recreational aspects of the Gordon Conferences.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by April 1, 2023. Please check back for updates.
