This conference has been withdrawn from the 2020 conference schedule
As you are aware, coronavirus is having a global impact and the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control have instituted recommendations that include social distancing and cancelling conferences and large gatherings. Since safety of our attendees is always GRC's highest priority, the GRC Board of Trustees has decided to withdraw this conference and it will be rescheduled for 2022. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and to alleviate the concerns of our conference communities that are scheduled to meet in this timeframe.
The 2020 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Optics and Photonics in Medicine and Biology continues the 55-year proud history of the GRC on Lasers in Medicine and Biology. The name update is to better reflect the contemporary breadth of research covered by the conference. The 2020 conference will span biophotonics research across the full spectrum from basic biology to clinical medicine. An emphasis throughout the conference will be on data science, linked to the theme of the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), a forum to enhance the GRC experience of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
This conference will bring together an outstanding and diverse group of scientists at the forefront of biophotonics research to stimulate discussion and exchange of ideas. All speakers are encouraged to present new, unpublished research in the tradition of the "off the record" policy of the GRC. The intimate environment provides a unique experience for researchers across all levels to engage in scientific discovery.
