The 2021 Gordon Research Conference on Organic Reactions and Processes will gather leading experts in organic chemistry at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI July 18-23, 2021. This 66th consecutive annual gathering will present leading edge research directed towards the synthesis of complex organic molecules. This GRC conference attracts a diverse group of leading scientists from both industrial and academic labs who are interested in the latest innovations in synthetic organic chemistry applied on scales from milligrams to kilograms.
The 2021 meeting features invited lectures focusing on fundamental and targeted research that enables access to elaborate molecular scaffolds with exquisite control. The program will include both established and emerging scientists from the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Topics include the total synthesis of natural products, pharmaceutical process chemistry, novel organic methods, biocatalysis, organometallic catalysis, and mechanistic investigations. Presentations will emphasize unpublished work and include open discussion periods to facilitate further understanding and generate new ideas for further research.
This conference also features a series of lively and interactive poster sessions, showcasing work by young and established scientists from both industry and academia. These are open for all attendees to present their own research and discuss recent progress with other experts. Thus, attendees are strongly encouraged to submit a poster abstract at the time of their applications. A subset of the posters will be selected to present oral "short talks" on the final day of the conference.
The deadline for the submission of poster abstracts is four weeks before the conference begins on June 18th, 2021. This conference is annually oversubscribed, so early application is encouraged.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below.
