Conference Description
The Signaling by Adhesion Receptors GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
One new goal of this meeting will be to couple fundamental discovery science towards clinical cancer diagnosis and treatment to this expanding and ever more interdisciplinary community. The main objective of the conference will be to share the newest knowledge from research on: (i) mechanical and biochemical crosstalk between adhesion and growth factor receptors, and (ii) how this basic scientific knowledge can be extended to understand the complex mechanistic roots of cancer. Importantly, we wish to extend the ongoing development of novel tools and techniques and the corresponding understanding of adhesion signaling at the fundamental level, towards: (i) near-physiological modeling to better understand development and disease, and (ii) clinical applications of adhesion and growth factor modulation. Lastly, we will emphasize emerging topics in the field to promote new frontiers amongst our peers. This interdisciplinary meeting is essential to instigate and foster collaborations between scientists with diverse backgrounds in bioimaging, bioengineering, and cancer and developmental biology.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by October 18, 2023. Please check back for updates.
