Conference Description
The Gordon Research Seminar on Sleep Regulation and Function is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is on the mechanisms and functions of sleep from the molecular, cellular, and circuit/systems levels. The goal of this meeting is to enhance our understanding of sleep through basic and translational research and exploration of various models of sleep, from insects to humans. Sessions speakers will be chosen from submitted abstracts and will highlight topics not previously covered at the GRS, such as the role of glia in sleep, peripheral and metabolic regulation of sleep, and sleep changes in the context of disease states. With a senior mentor, we will also discuss academic career development, including starting your own lab, securing funding, and collaboration.
