Conference Description
The Antimicrobial Peptides GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are remarkable biomolecules found across all kingdoms of life, from plants and insects to mammals, underscoring their evolutionary significance. Their roles are as diverse as their origins: from combating infectious diseases to modulating inflammation, promoting wound healing, and even involvement in complex conditions such as cancer and autoimmune disorders. Since their discovery, AMPs have proven to be true "Swiss army knives" of the host defense system. As our understanding grows, also do the questions surrounding their mechanisms and therapeutic potential. This international, one-of-a-kind conference will spotlight the full spectrum of AMP functions and explore their presence and applications across diverse biological systems. A key focus will be the translational aspect of AMP research, aiming to translate discoveries from various organisms and contexts into therapeutic innovations. We invite the presentation of unpublished, cutting-edge research to encourage an interactive environment that fosters collaboration and synergy. The meeting will bring together experts from academia and industry, covering topics that span from fundamental preclinical studies to clinical applications. Our goal is to spark thought-provoking discussions that go beyond the current state of knowledge and catalyze new directions in AMP research and development.
The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include 9 sessions and the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by May 6, 2026. Please check back for updates.
