Collaborative Advancements in Technology and Practice to Improve Outcomes During Mechanical Circulatory Support

The Gordon Research Seminar on Assisted Circulation is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The focus of this meeting is to improve patient outcomes associated with mechanical circulatory support by presenting the latest research in device designs, controller algorithms, human factors, biomaterials, diagnostic tools, adverse events, perioperative procedures, and postoperative management, through the collaboration of scientists, engineers, and clinicians. Topics include but are not limited to: cannula development, pump topology, surface modification, sensor technology, miniaturization, driveline elimination, physiologic control, user interface, remote monitoring, risk stratification, infection, stroke, hemolysis, thrombosis, aortic insufficiency, gastrointestinal bleeding, right ventricular failure, end-organ dysfunction, surgical approach, and anticoagulation titration.
