Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar on Autophagy In Stress, Development & Disease is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

Autophagy is a rapidly growing field that impacts all aspects of human health including aging, cancer, infection and immunity, neurodegenerative diseases, myopathies, metabolic disorders, and cancer. The intention of the 2012 Autophagy GRS is to give graduate students and postdoctoral fellows the opportunity to present their cutting-edge research in a non-intimidating environment and build solid scientific networks with their peers indispensible to develop productive and stimulating research programs.

The 2012 Autophagy GRS will address the following topics: Cellular Mechanisms of Autophagy, Autophagy in Model Organisms, and Autophagy in Human Disease.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Autophagy in Stress, Development and Disease" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
