Conference Description
The Cardiac Regulatory Mechanisms GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
This will be the 29th consecutive Gordon Conference on Cardiac Regulatory Mechanisms, assembling the leaders and promising young scientists in the field studying the molecular and systems biology of cardiovascular disease. The theme of the 2026 meeting will be “New Insights, Current Therapies and What Lies Ahead". The primary goal of the meeting will be to bring together scientists working on heart disease from multiple perspectives and backgrounds, from the molecular machinery and organization of the cardiac myocyte to the development of novel, cutting-edge techniques in the study of complex cardiovascular phenotypes coupled to in vivo models of cardiac disease. These multiple levels of biological insight will be required to further the stated goal of the conference, to begin to develop targeted therapies for pathogenic cardiac remodeling. Given the continuing increase in the incidence and prevalence of heart disease (for heart failure alone, almost 1 million new cases per year at an estimated cost of more than $39 billion per year), there is an urgent unmet need to come up with new treatment strategies that address the various causes of heart failure. With this goal in mind, the meeting has traditionally brought together senior leaders in cardiovascular research into the future.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by October 1, 2025. Please check back for updates.
