Conference Description
The Extracellular Vesicles GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Understanding the modes and mechanisms in the biology of Extracellular Vesicles (EV) and putting them in the context of physiological and pathological processes in mammalian organisms is essential for their biomedical utilization. EVs may have a huge clinical potential either in biomarker discovery as precise tools for disease monitoring or as EV-based drug candidates being able to modify disease courses. Currently, the lack of a comprehensive knowledge regarding EV biology in health and disease hampers a swift development of potency assays that would be needed in preclinical studies and in the course of clinical assessment.
Confirming the relevance and predictive strength of EV-based disease specific biomarkers on the one hand side as well as the development of disease relevant in vitro and in vivo potency assays to eveluate the therapeutic potential will benefit from a collaborative approach covering broad expertise. This Gordon Research Conference aims to connect expert views from basic discovery providing deep mechanistic insights with the awareness of requirements of biomedical development either in biomarker or therapeutics development. The presentation of cutting-edge technologies providing novel ideas for biomarker discovery or tools for EV-therapeutics manufacturing, bioprocessing and control will be accompanied by a discussion of regulatory aspects as well as specific patient needs in clinical development.
The conference will consist of nine sessions, on the topics listed below. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by November 12, 2025. Please check back for updates.
