Conference Description
The IGF and Insulin System in Physiology and Disease GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The “IGF and Insulin System in Physiology and Disease” GRC Conference brings together an international community of investigators committed to understanding the roles of IGFs and insulin in health and disease. The program features a balance of emerging investigators and established leaders from institutions worldwide, serving as speakers and discussion leaders across diverse scientific disciplines.
The 2027 Conference will highlight emerging strategies that integrate multi-omic technologies to deepen mechanistic insight and accelerate translational impact. Scientific sessions will emphasize integrative approaches—including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and single-cell and spatial technologies—to interrogate IGF and insulin signaling across physiological systems and disease states. Particular emphasis will be placed on linking molecular and systems-level discoveries to human biology, clinical phenotypes, and therapeutic development. The Conference is designed to foster a highly interactive and collegial environment that supports rigorous discussion, the exchange of emerging ideas, and the formation of new collaborations. Dedicated opportunities for trainees and early-career scientists to present their work, engage directly with leaders in the field will help shape the future directions of IGF and insulin research.
A central priority of the 2027 Conference is to promote the participation and advancement of junior investigators from around the world. We actively encourage abstract submissions from trainees and early-career investigators to ensure broad scientific engagement and showcase innovative work from the next generation of leaders in the field. Through meaningful opportunities for presentation, discussion and mentorship, the Conference aims to foster a dynamic global scientific community and help shape the future of IGF and insulin research.
The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include 9 sessions and the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by June 3, 2026. Please check back for updates.
