Biophysics and Biology of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins

The fifth IDP GRS will focus on how protein disorder is employed by living systems to enhance their functional palette, especially in ways that bridge scales from atomistic to macroscopic levels. The meeting will explore several areas, including the physiochemical principles that govern the behavior and regulatory capacity of IDPs, as well as how the function of IDPs contributes to cellular and organismal physiology and its potential role in dysregulation.

The GRS offers junior scientists an opportunity to present their research, engage in discussions, and receive valuable feedback. It also aims to expand their understanding of established principles and address pertinent unresolved questions in the field. Furthermore, the seminar encourages interactions and constructive networking between emerging scientists and established experts in the field. The meeting will conclude with a career panel led by international faculty at multiple career stages, sharing their highly relevant perspectives and advice on navigating the grant and funding landscape.

Given the interdisciplinary nature associated with studying IDPs, we encourage applications from both individuals familiar with the field and those who are newly interested in IDPs as a topic of study.
