Conference Description
The Gordon Research Seminar on Lipoprotein Metabolism is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The 2014 Lipoprotein Metabolism Gordon Research Seminar will provide young investigators in the field of cardiovascular research a stimulating, non-intimidating environment to discuss science with peers and develop future collaborations. The meeting will feature presentations of unpublished research by dynamic young students and post docs. The focus of this meeting is to explore the broad spectrum of the cellular and extra-cellular lipoprotein metabolism, from basic to applied research. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Regulation of cholesterol homeostasis, HDL-subfraction functions, MicroRNA transport and function, Apolipoprotein B and TRL assembly, Different functions of the LDL receptor family, Lipids, ABC transporters, and Cardiovascular disease therapies. The seminar will end with a career development session to give insights into the various challenges and rewards of a career in biomedical research.
