Conference Description

The Mechanisms of Microbial Transcription GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.

Transcription lies at the heart of gene expression, a process necessary for environmental adaptation and cellular homeostasis. The Mechanisms of Microbial Transcription GRC historically focused on the structure, function, and regulation of RNA polymerases and now includes research on a broad range of transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene expression mechanisms. We seek to continue broadening our community by including a wide variety of gene expression-related topics while maintaining our core strength in the mechanistic molecular biology of transcription. Our 2025 program features cutting-edge work on molecular mechanisms of gene expression in viruses, bacteria, and archaea including model organisms and pathogens.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Mechanisms of Microbial Transcription" Gordon Research Conference (GRC).
