Conference Description
The Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Biotoxins, such as mycotoxins and phycotoxins, pose a global challenge due to their widespread natural occurrence in food, feed, water and the environment as well as their potential toxicity to humans and animals. The 2025 GRC on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins will convene scientists from academia, government, and the private sector to discuss the latest advances in fungal and algal toxin research. The program will focus on the impact of biotoxins on human and animal health, prevention and mitigation strategies, novel analytical methodologies, monitoring and forecasting, as well as microbial community dynamics related biotoxin production. The primary goal of the conference is to ensure global food and water security by facilitating an exchange between senior and young scientists from diverse disciplines and regions.
The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), which takes place immediately before the GRC, provides a unique platform for graduate students and early-career scientists to present their research, exchange ideas, and connect with both peers and leading experts in their field.
The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include 9 sessions and the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by September 16, 2026. Please check back for updates.
