Conference Description
The Nonproliferation, Counterproliferation and Disarmament Science GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) continue to pose a global threat to international security. In particular, the development and proliferation of WMD may result in the danger of loss of control and the increased risk of their use in conventional, armed conflicts. The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) threat space requires innovative and reliable methods that can be used to detect, prevent or limit the use, and interdict the transfer of WMD and associated materials. This conference will bring together leading scientists and researchers across the CBRNE WMD threat space to share and discuss new approaches and emerging science tackling the tough issues inherent in effective nonproliferation, counterproliferation and disarmament approaches. By focusing on scientific approaches, instead of policy, this conference will enable scientists from diverse disciplines to share their techniques and advances with their colleagues across the threat-science domain. Topics will include science to support enhanced verification, the role of machine learning and artificial intelligence, cross-cutting approaches to detection and monitoring, data security and authentication, and new approaches to risk assessment and modelling.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by March 11, 2023. Please check back for updates.
