Conference Description
The Peptide Materials GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
Building on the success of the first two Peptide Materials GRCs, this third conference will highlight emerging directions in the field at the intersection of science, engineering, and medicine. The program will emphasize how understanding peptide structure, assembly, and dynamics guides materials design and function across length scales. The program will also explore how artificial intelligence, computational design, and advanced synthetic approaches enables discovery. Discussions will include molecular designs based on natural and non-natural amino acids, as well as peptide mimics, along with connections to larger systems including polypeptides and proteins. Scientific sessions will span fundamental principles and applications, including peptide materials for delivery, detection, and inhibition; materials for construction and energy-related applications; and strategies for understanding and manipulating biological systems using peptide-based materials. Dynamic and adaptive material states, including liquid–liquid phase separated systems, will be explored as key organizing principles in both biological and synthetic materials. The conference will conclude by identifying future directions and opportunities that will shape the next phase of peptide materials research.
The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include 9 sessions and the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by April 22, 2026. Please check back for updates.
