The Plant Lipids: Structure, Metabolism and Function GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
This year’s theme, “Plant Lipid Science from Molecules to Mechanisms and Applications” spans cutting-edge research on fundamental mechanisms, technological advances, and translational applications of plant lipids for sustainable solutions in biofuels, energy, agriculture and novel uses. Sessions will explore the molecular and structural basis of lipid function in plant growth, development, and resilience to environmental stress. The conference will also focus on technical and digital advancements, including new computational frameworks for studying lipid biology, innovations in plant biotechnology and synthetic biology, and analytical tools that are accelerating discovery.
The conference begins with a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Plant Lipids, offering graduate students and postdoctoral researchers an opportunity to present their work, build professional networks, and explore career paths in a supportive environment. We encourage early career scientists to participate in both the GRS and the GRC to fully benefit from the scientific and community building experiences.
Join us as we explore the full spectrum of plant lipid biology, from molecular mechanisms to engineered applications, and work together to drive innovation, sustainability, and transformative scientific progress in this rapidly advancing field.
