Meeting Description

Overview

The Gordon Research Seminar on Catalysis is a unique, 2-day event that enables the brightest young minds in catalysis research, such as graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience, to network and exchange cutting-edge ideas in a highly-stimulating and non-intimidating environment.

The focus of this inaugural meeting will be to discuss the most recent advancements in the four pillars of catalysis research – synthesis, characterization, kinetics, and theoretical methods – as applied to accelerate catalytic solutions to global grand challenges. Topics will include, but are not limited to, catalytic innovations (both fundamental and applied) for energy and chemicals production, material synthesis, and environmental applications. The meeting program will begin with an inspirational keynote lecture followed by both oral and poster presentation sessions from young researchers to discuss important contributions to these fields. GRS participants are highly encouraged to attend the Gordon Research Conference on Catalysis that will take place immediately following the GRS.

Application Instructions

The meeting will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.

The Chairs will select speakers from abstracts submitted by March 23, 2018. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster. In order to participate, you must submit an application by the date indicated in the Application Deadline section above.
