GRC Chartered Bus Service
GRC offers a chartered bus service from the Florence Airport. Reservations are required and tickets are $62 each way.

Organizing Private Car Services – Typically wait times are long for taxi services in the area, so we recommend contacting the hotel in advance ( 3905837691) to organize any transfer you may need outside of the GRC coach bus. GRC is not able to evaluate services provided by local vendors so we recommend you check reviews and exercise discretion when booking local services, or use the hotel. If you need to explore available local services you can search ‘NCC Florence’ or ‘NCC Lucca’ or ‘ NCC Pisa’ to see a list of private car services in the area. 
 
Train Travel from Florence or Pisa to Il Ciocco – Trenitalia is the main train provider in Italy and services both Pisa and Florence and the smaller regional stations closer to the venue. You can purchase tickets directly on Trenitalia’s website here.

• Florence - To travel from Florence airport to Florence Santa Maria Novella station there is a tram which costs approximately 2 euros departing regularly from just outside the terminal. You can travel from Florence Santa Maria Novella station (Firenze S.M. Novella) to Barga-Gallicano station – a journey of approximately 3-4 hours which requires you to change trains in Pisa and/or Lucca.. From Barga Gallicano station you will need to organize a taxi to the hotel. The best number to call is the hotel’s main phone number at 3905837691. If a local train to Barga- Gallicano is not available you also can organize a taxi from Lucca directly to the hotel.
  
  
• Pisa - To travel from Pisa airport you can take a ‘Pisamover’ bus to the Central station, which picks up from the passenger terminals every 5 to 8 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at each of the Pisamover stops or from Trenitalia.  From Pisa Centrale you can purchase a train ticket via the Trenitalia link above to Barga-Gallicano station. Travel time is approximately 2 hours – some options require a change of trains in Lucca to a smaller local train.  From Barga-Gallicano station you will need to organize a taxi to the hotel.  The best number to call is the hotel’s main phone number at 3905837691. If a local train to Barga-Gallicano is not available you also can organize a taxi from Lucca directly to the hotel.
  
  
  

Childcare & Guest Services

GRC offers guest and child registration packages that allow guests to share your accommodations and join you at meals. Children under 4-years-old are free of charge and children ages 4-12 receive a 50% discount.  Additional information is available in the childcare and guest guide for this GRC venue. You may register guests when you complete your conference registration by indicating who will be joining you (all registered guests receive badges for access to meals).  Please note that guests of any age are not able to attend science or poster sessions. Babysitting services are available through the hotel. 

Arrival & Conference Essentials

• GRS check-in is on Saturday between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm in the GRC Office.
• GRC check-in is on Sunday between 2:00 pm and 9:00 pm in the GRC Office.
• If you arrive after the GRC Office has closed, please visit the front desk to check into your room and visit the GRC Office during posted office hours to obtain your badge.  
• Check-out on Friday is at 10:00 am.  Early check-in and late check-out are not available.
• Casual attire is appropriate at GRCs.
• This site is handicap accessible.
• All conference meals are served buffet style in La Veranda restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. Vegetarian selections are provided at all meals. Kosher or Halal meals are not available locally.  If you have food allergies or dietary requirements please let us know when you register for the conference.
• The Renaissance Tuscany has indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, and a game room on-site.  Information about other local tours will be available on site in the GRC Office.
