Transforming Mechanical Circulatory Support for the Next Era

Mechanical circulatory support (MCS) stands on the cusp of a transformative era. With rapid technological and clinical advancements, many longstanding challenges in MCS have been overcome, allowing us to redirect our efforts towards therapy optimization with more patient-centric care.

Throughout this Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), we will navigate the evolving landscape of MCS from current to future technologies. The 2025 program will emphasize (1) understanding acute and durable device function, as well as associated patient hemodynamics, monitoring and outcomes, (2) integrating emerging technologies such as telemedicine and intelligent pump systems for enhanced patient-centered management, and (3) exploring novel disruptive technologies to address unresolved medical needs in heart failure therapy.

The GRS serves as a platform for early-stage researchers to delve into the current state of MCS while mapping out its future trajectory. Facilitated by a blend of junior researchers and senior mentors, we cultivate an inclusive environment by highlighting keynote speakers and abstract presentations from early-stage researchers that encourage active participation. A mentorship roundtable between attendees will further help fostering vibrant discussions. By nurturing dialogue between experienced experts and emerging scholars alike, this Seminar lays the groundwork for dynamic scientific exchanges that will be continued in the subsequent Gordon Research Conference (GRC).

Abstracts are welcomed from all topics in MCS and heart failure; top abstracts submitted prior to the early submission deadline will be considered for an oral presentation. Abstract presenters will be able to apply for assistance with registration and/or travel to offset associated costs.
