Conference Description
The Mechanisms of Membrane Transport GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The conference will be held from May 23rd to 28th, 2027 at the Les Diablerets Conference Center, nestled in the stunning Swiss Alps. This gathering brings together a diverse community of scientists in structural biology, biophysics, pharmacology, neurobiology, and computational biology to address fundamental questions about how membranes control the flow of molecules in and out of the cell. Attendees will engage with groundbreaking research on ion channels, pumps, and transporters, exploring how these molecular gatekeepers regulate cellular physiology in both health and disease. Key topics include lipid interactions and dynamics, organellar transport systems, membrane protein complexes and diverse applications spanning plant biology, microbiology, metabolism, and drug discovery. The program will showcase advanced technologies including AI and machine learning, advanced spectroscopy, and single molecule methods. The mountain setting offers unique opportunities for scientific exchange during hikes and outdoor activities, creating an intimate environment designed to spark connections and collaborations that extend well beyond the conference. We look forward to seeing you there!
The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include 9 sessions and the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions. The preliminary program will be available by August 26, 2026. Please check back for updates.
