Conference Description

The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) seeks to attract new Oceans & Human Health (OHH) scientists from diverse scientific backgrounds who are at a critical juncture in their career development. The GRS OHH is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The focus of this GRS will be the risks associated with human-ocean interaction, such as harmful algal blooms, chemical contaminants and marine pathogens; and the remedies the ocean provides in the forms of marine natural products, sentinel species and seafood production. This multidisciplinary GRS will integrate fields such as oceanography, biology, environmental engineering, toxicology, microbiology, epidemiology, public health and veterinary medicine.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the "Oceans and Human Health" Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
